Give Your Mum A Birthday To Remember

 

She is happier than you in all your achievements. She stands by you through every heart ache. She is your friend, philosopher and guide. She is your mum! And now, it’s her birthday. How do you make it a memorable event for her?

Planning the Party:

When I planned my mum’s 40th birthday last year, I shopped online for the gifts. I had recently become a mum myself and was really time starved – with the new baby and the all night feeds. Nevertheless, I had begun to see my mum in a new light and wanted to make her birthday special for her. I was keen that she knows how much I appreciate her. I got all birthday decorations online – the Happy 40th birthday banner was great. I also got her a photo album and arranged all my childhood pictures with her in it. I also got her an amazing couplet etched in stained glass to thank her for being there for me over the years. It now occupies pride of place in her cabin.

Choosing a Gift:

What are some of the things to keep in mind while selecting a birthday gift for mum? Make sure that it reflects her character. Is she a stay at home mum or a busy professional? For a stay at home mum, a nice cushion with an embroidered message would make a great gift. I am sure she will love it and proudly display it when guests come to visit.

The gifts should also be able to convey the unique bond you share with her. If she is the sentimental type, why not gift her a cute beanie bear proclaiming “Best Mum”?

Other great gift ideas for mums that come to mind are coffee mugs, photo albums and of course the universal birthday card with the right words!

If you are hard pressed for time like me, let that not be an excuse any more for getting a gift for your mum’s birthday. You can find a wide range of amazing gifts just for mums. All you need to do is select one that fits your budget and pay up using your credit card or Paypal account. You can either get it delivered to your address to gift it directly or if you are in a different city you can get it delivered directly to your mum. In that case, don’t forget to at least wish her over the phone on her special day.
